Is My Web Designer Optimising My Website?

Published on 07/12/2011 by in Local SEO

When you order a website from a web designer they may tell you that they will make your site SEO friendly and you will get ranked on the 1st page of Google. From our experience this is not the case. They may insert your keywords in your content and Meta Tags but this does not mean your website will be ranked on the 1st page of Google.

Although it is important for your keywords to be included in your content , H1, H2 titles and your Meta Tags this doesn’t mean your website will be listed anywhere near the first page. With Local SEO only 5% is done onsite as previously mentioned, the remaining 95% is done off site. This is through high quality, relevant SEO link building. To achieve first page rankings on Google there needs to be a weekly link building campaign in place and not building links from directories or blog comments as we previously mentioned in our blog. This takes a lot of time and a huge amount of experience is required on knowing where to place your links within the correct sites.

We are not saying that all web designers will not rank your website but there is a huge number of them that will say this to get your order. We suggest keeping the web design and the SEO as two completely different services. Have one company designing your site and use a Local SEO company to rank your website who has ears of experience and SEO is the only service they offer.
